Introduction
Founded in 1824, Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute is the nation’s oldest technological
research University, offering degrees in Engineering, Science, Architecture, Humanities,
Arts & Social Sciences, Management and Information Technology. Our students
represent the next generation of leaders, engineers, scientists, entrepreneurs, patent
holders, artists, game designers, architects and innovators from around the world.
The Class of 2014 graduates went to work in a variety of employment fields, ranging
from aerospace to scientific research. Rensselaer graduates will be attending some of
the most prestigious universities in the nation to continue on with their studies.
This year, we are pleased to report that 82% of graduates who responded to our survey
secured their future plans within six months of graduation. Our graduates exemplify
intellectual agility, multicultural sophistication, and a global view – traits that will serve
them well in our top reported industries of biotechnology, energy, computer hardware
and software, and financial services.
Jennifer Walters, Director
Center for Career and Professional Developement
"It's hard to believe Gore has been recruiting at RPI for over 20 years! Even
during years when our hiring forecast was down, we maintained RPI as a
priority school. The combination of academic rigor and personal leadership
qualities displayed by your students has always impressed us. We find RPI
graduates to be bright, well-rounded and self-driven."
Jane Gardner, Recruiter

“Career fairs, information
sessions, and other
events planned by the
Career Center are all
opportunities for students
to practice connecting
with people. These events
provide an outlet for
students to exercise
articulating an idea,
persuading someone, and
negotiating a situation
towards your favor. These
soft skills can help with
sealing an opportunity
during a career fair, and
have also carried on after
graduation to help with
my daily tasks at work.”

“RBC Bearings is proud of its
relationship with RPI. We hire
manufacturing Engineers for
several divisions. The MPS
Manufacturing Process Systems
class helps students gain an
application for manufacturing by
learning theory and then
applying it to their own projects
in the Manufacturing Innovative
Learning Lab (MILL). Students
manufacture 400 units of a
product. There is nowhere in
the United States where
students are better prepared for
manufacturing engineering
careers.”
