More Than Just Financial Support
Faced with the new rigors of college life, the future leaders of our
community need more than just financial support during their collegiate years.
In 1992, TELACU created a retention program called the College
Advisement & Leadership Program (CALP) to help ensure the success of our
Scholars in attaining their educational goals.
TELACU Scholars learn to successfully navigate the college experience
through study skills and time management seminars, motivational
talks, counseling and leadership training. Required of all TELACU
Scholars entering college for the first time, the Program helps students make
the transition from high school to college and, ultimately, into the workplace.
Other elements of CALP include:
Career Preparation
Financial Education
Graduate School Preparation
Internship Component
Leadership Component
Mentoring Component
Parental Support Component
