Students should contact the four-year school to keep informed of changes, as final responsibility for verifying information rests with the student. TRANSFER OPTIONS Completed AA or AS degree: UIC recommends that students follow the appropriate UIC College transfer guide while completing an A.A. or A.S. degree before transferring. All of UIC’s academic programs have specific college pre-requisite courses that must be completed at CLC in order to be considered for admission. IAI GECC: Completing only the IAI General Education Core at CLC (no AA/AS) will be evaluated by UIC as completing the lower division general education requirements; however, the courses required for acceptance to a particular program may not be met. There will be additional UIC College graduation requirements. Completing some courses at CLC: If transferring prior to completing the IAI General Education Core at CLC, students may have an opportunity to complete the Core at UIC with approved IAI courses or to follow UIC's general education requirements to meet the general education component of the baccalaureate degree in order to graduate from UIC. TRANSFER CREDITS After attaining junior standing, all students must complete 60 semester hours at UIC or another accredited fouryear institution. Ordinarily, students should not enroll at a community college after earning 60 semester hours. See additional University Degree Requirements here: http://catalog.uic.edu/ucat/degree-programs/univ-degree-requirements-graduation/ In general, some D grades transfer. However, several UIC colleges require C’s or better in Math courses (LAS, Business, Engineering, and Education). In addition, the College of Engineering, the College of Education, and the College of Nursing require C’s or above in all college courses to transfer these courses toward a Bachelors degree. Course equivalencies can be viewed using the Transferology website: https://www.transferology.com/ ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS Transfer applicants with less than 36 hours of credit at time of enrollment must submit high school transcripts and ACT/SAT scores. Students who fall below the minimum 24 credit hours at the time of application, but have completed one semester of college-level coursework, are now eligible to apply as a transfer student if they submit high school transcripts and ACT scores for the following academic colleges: College of Architecture, Design, & the Arts, College of Business Administration, and College of Liberal Arts & Sciences. Other academic programs will review transfer applicants with less than 24 credit hours on a case by case basis with the exception of Nursing and Nutrition (see attached transfer requirements page).
