Russell Purvis
Dr. Russell Purvis is an Associate
Professor of Management Information
Systems at Clemson University. Russell
has over 30 years of experience in
project management. He has trained
thousands of people on how to prepare
for the Project Management Professional
exam over the last 15 years for Clemson
University and the International Institute
for Learning (IIL). He is a member of the
Academy of Management, the Decision
Sciences Institute, TIMS, and the Project
Management Institute. Russell has
been a certified Project Management
Professional (PMP) since 1996. Russell
received a BS in Systems Analysis from
the University of Miami, an MBA from
Georgia State University and a PhD from
Florida State University in Information

Your training modules reference the PMI A Guide
to the Project Management Body of Knowledge (the
PMBOK Guide). The material follows the natural
progression of the PMBOK and includes the 42
processes mapped to the nine project management
knowledge areas. These knowledge areas are described
by their inputs, tools and techniques, and outputs.
These study modules will help you apply the essential
areas of project management within your organization.

Your classes will start at 8:30am and end at 4:30 pm each
day; beverage and snack breaks will be served daily.

PMP Certification Eligibility
Program includes the PMP® Exam Prep System (including
PMP® Exam Prep book, PM FASTrack® Exam Simulation
Software, and Hot Topics Flashcards), developed by Rita
Mulcahy and a hard copy of the PMBOK.
Any PMP® candidate must verify a high school
diploma or an Associate’s degree with 60 months
(7,500 hours) of PM experience, or a Bachelor’s
degree with 36 months (4,500 hours) of PM
experience over the last eight years. In both cases
candidates must also have 35 contact hours of project
management education, which is offered though this
course. The application for the exam and verification
of education and experience are done online at the
Project Management Institute website. In addition,
this program satisfies the requirements for the
CAPM® exam.
