Quabbin Regional High School is starting a relationship with the Jac P. Thijsse
School in Castricum, the Netherlands. September 6-10 of 2014, Quabbin students
will host Dutch students here in this district. The students will share cultures, ideas
and the lives of typical American students. They will also collaborate on projects
together starting in September and culminating in April of 2015 when Quabbin
students travel to the Netherlands for a week long exchange.
If you are interested in becoming part of this exchange, please contact the high
school principal, Ray Dewar at: rdewar@qrsd.org

College?

Located in Castricum, the Netherlands
2,000 students
Students range from pre-vocational studies to college
preparatory.
All of the students we will work with are college prep
and speak English.
Like our students, they have sports,
drama, music, prom and other typical high
school experiences.
Their school day has 8 fifty minute
periods and runs from 8:10-3:55.
Students start bilingual classes from 7th
grade on.
They run exchanges with schools in
England, Spain, and now the US
Why This Exchange?
For both schools, this is a chance to visit another
culture and find out what a typical American/Dutch
high school experience is like.
This is a chance to share cultures, exchange ideas
and to work together both in person and using
technology to complete a shared project.
Both schools recognize the need to expand the
horizons of their students.
