Dear Parent and Student,
In High School 9th graders take the following required classes:






English Language and Literature
Individuals and Societies
Science
Math
Design
Physical and Health Education
In addition, all 9th graders will choose:



an Arts class (Drama, Music or Visual Art)
a level of Danish language
a Language B class.
10th graders take eight subjects. All 10th graders take the following year long required classes:




English Language and Literature
Individuals and Societies
Mathematics
Physical and Health Education
In addition, they will choose




one Arts elective or Product Design
a Science
a Language
an additional elective: a second Science, a second Language, or Digital Design
Students who are considering taking Computer Science in the Diploma Programme are recommended to
take Digital Design as their elective in 10th grade.

The goal in choosing a foreign language in the IB programmes is attaining fluency. This means that study
of a chosen foreign language should be sustained throughout secondary schooling whenever possible. To
help attain the best results long-term in the programme, we strongly recommend that student continue
in the language that they have studied the longest.
Please note that the classes offered are contingent on course selection numbers. Classes which are
under-subscribed may not be offered.
When filling the form for Grade 9 choices, please remember the following points:
 You must choose ONE subject from Danish group
 You must choose ONE subject from the Language B group
 You must choose ONE subject from the Art group
When filling the form for Grade 10 choices, please remember the following points:
 You must choose ONE subject from the Language group
 You must choose ONE subject from the Science group
 You may only choose ONE subject from the Arts/Product Design group
 Additionally you must choose ONE subject from the Additional Subject group
