FBI check Statewide check (x2 if Member lives and serves in different states) NSOPR Components of CHC, cont… The RESULTS of the criminal history check can come from CNCS approved ASP New CHC request A combination of both What is an ASP? An ASP is an official request to allow Compact Service Corps to use an alternative process that varies from the requirements identified in the regulations. An ASP will make your life easier as a Coordinator! ASP allows CSC to use a pre-existing CHC as the approved AmeriCorps CHC Check must be less than one year old (except for AZ which can be older than one year) and must be accessible to CNCS, if requested What is an ASP?...cont An ASP is NOT a CHC. The ASP is the vehicle that allows us to use a pre-existing component of the CHC as the approved CNCS CHC (or part of it). ASPs can be amended ASPs do not expire ASPs can be submitted at any time to CNCS Requesting a New CHC If your Member is NOT covered by an ASP, all three components of the CHC need to be requested through the appropriate vendor. FBI check is completed by Accurate Biometrics Statewide check(s) is completed by EBI, Inc. NSOPR is completed by EBI, Inc. (NSOPR is automatically generated when a statewide check is requested) The importance of verification forms! The FBI Check The newest component of the AmeriCorps CHC is the FBI check, a fingerprint based national search, completed by an approved FBI channeler, Accurate Biometrics.
