Advanced Placement - the College of Agriculture and Life Sciences

advertisement
CALS students are able to earn up to 30 Advanced Placement Credits. These credits are awarded by achieving a high score on a placement exam or completing college level
coursework that meets the guidelines for transfer while still in high school. The credits can be applied towards distribution requirements. Some advisors require students to
forfeit their AP Credit and take the corresponding class to better prepare the student for upper electives. The student should consult with their advisor on their course selection.
At the end of each semester a student’s record is reviewed by the CALS Registrar and AP Credit is removed if the student has successfully completed the placement course
(example: a student earning a score on 5 in AP statistics who successfully completes an introductory statistics course at Cornell will forfeit the 4 credits previously awarded for
AP statistics). AP Credits show on the student official Cornell transcript.
