Assignment: Presentation (50 points)
You work for an advertising agency that
represents the “Back to the Future Travel
Agency”. This travel agency offers time
travel excursions to those seeking a unique
get-away from their daily lives. Your job is to
develop a new promotional feature for the
company.
Overview:
You will choose a geologic time period and
design a promotional document that represents various aspects of the period. Keep in
mind, while researching and composing your promotion that you want to be as thorough
as possible while also enticing customers to use the travel agency’s unique services.
Choose from these types of presentations:
PowerPoint Presentation (maximum 10 slides)
Color tri-fold brochure (8 1 2” x 11” paper)
Two-page newspaper/flyer (8 1 2” x 11” paper)
Slide-show with voice over (maximum 10 slides)
Include all of these points of interest in your promotion:
Era the period is in
Time range of geologic period
Relative location on the geologic time scale
Major geologic events of the period
plate movement
topographic changes
oceanic changes
volcanic activity
sedimentation events
Flora and fauna of the period
- one food chain of the time (maximum 5 animals)
- clear descriptions of 3 plants, 3 animals and their habitats
- discuss predominant species of the period
Minor and/or major extinctions of the period
Fossil evidence from the period
Climate (temperature range; precipitation)
Food sources available for travelers
Lodging available for travelers
