Nittany Beagle Rescue * P.O. Box 127 * West Decatur, PA 16878
Email: info@nittanybeaglerescue.org
Nittany Beagle Rescue is a nonprofit organization dedicated to saving the lives of beagles in
central Pennsylvania. We accept beagles from shelters and from owners who can no longer keep
them, and we work to find them loving, permanent homes.
How to help!
Sponsoring a beagle is a great way for you to help save the lives of beagles in central Pennsylvania. Your taxdeductible donation of $15.00 will sponsor a dog for a month. Sponsorship donations help support food, shelter and
medical costs for our beagles. If you wish to have your name displayed as a sponsor we will list you once we have
received your donation. You can also be an anonymous sponsor. If you wish, your sponsorship can be in honor of
someone or in memory of a loved one. Your $15.00 donation can be made online by credit card using PayPal, a
global leader in online payment services. If you are already registered with PayPal, the process is very quick
Meet some of our current older beagles for adoption:
CIFFY, 8, is a playful 22
pound beagle boy. I am
good with dogs and kids,
and live with teenagers!
Please consider adopting
me!
KEMPER, 8 is a very loveable
guy who is great with kids, cats,
horses and dogs. He has some
separation anxiety when people
leave the house but is ok if there
is another dog around. Kemper
is ready to make you a loving
companion.
SHERM, 8, is an out-going and very
friendly beagle boy who is good with
dogs and cats and horses too! Sherm
has always lived outdoors so he
needs a family who is patient and can
spend time housetraining. Sherm
will be neutered before adoption.

FEATURED DOG: JAKE, A PUREBRED PLOTTHOUND
Hi! My name is Jake and you can call me an honorary senior because at age 5+, I
already have grey in my muzzle. I am a sweet dog who is good with dogs but
really prefers to be with people. When the dogs are playing in the yard I just want to
be with my foster person. I was brought to a high kill shelter by my owner, emaciated
and defeated. My owner kicked me and said, get in the kennel. I never did anything
wrong so I didn’t know why he treated me like this. A great woman rescued me but I
have been in rescue over 2 years and really would like a home now as I live outside most
of the time. I am about 60 pounds. Let me tell you something about Plotthounds.
Plotthounds make fine companions. Loyal and intelligent, the Plotthound is quick to
learn and quick to love. Well that’s me! If you want to adopt me and give me a loving
home, please email joansdogs@aol.com for an adoption application. I am on my way to
NY from Tennessee and into a great foster home under Senior Pets NYC.
Senior Dog Success Story—From “Stupid” to “Stewie” to ADOPTED!
Sweet Stewie, age 9 or 10 (they called him "stupid") was in a very neglectful situation
where he was tied on a short chain in a kennel, not being cleaned or fed properly. He
wagged his tail and was so happy when we arrived. We took him straight to the vet.
He received proper medical care and love and needed a forever home so badly. He is
a very good dog and does well with the other dogs @ the shelter. Loves and trusts
everyone. Shortly after his arrival, he was adopted!

After a bath!

Go Fetch! By Bodie
\
“There is no such
Thing as a bad
Treat!” - Bodie
There is nothing wrong with me
I used to have a family
But then things changed, so here I
sit
Wondering what to make of it
Will there be a new warm lap?
Some kind person to give me a
scratch?
My age it’s just a number
How long will I wait, I wonder
Cats have nine lives
Or so they say
So here I sit, and purr away
Just waiting for someone new
I really hope it’s you.
Greetings! Here I am at the dog park in
Florida!! Yep that’s right. I flew with
mom on a plane for the first time. I was a
good boy and people were petting me.
When we finally got to grandma’s, I was
SO hungry, I stole a bagel from the table.!
Oh Well. Mom said, you never did that at
home! We had a really fun time and the
weather was good. But when we got home
I was dog tired and fell asleep right away.
Big news—I passed my pet therapy test
and I am registered! So soon I can start
making visits at the nursing home with
mom. I can’t wait! A new chapter in my
life! Happy Spring!!! !!
Hungrily yours, BODIE!

Adopt a Senior Cat!!
Poem written by Boogie
Sometimes you just get lucky and this is
what happened for Duke. Surrendered by
his owner who had two other labs that went
to a rescue together, Duke went to Senior
Pets NYC’s foster home. Three applications
came in in two days and two people went on
a meet and greet, but passed on Duke for
different reasons. The fosters fell in love.
And they are adopting Duke. Thanks Joan
and Keith!
