Cost Accountant
Marathon Cheese Corporation, a national leader in cheese packaging is looking for a motivated
individual to work at our corporate office located in Marathon, WI.
General Summary:
Examines and reviews records and ensures data is allocated correctly by using the appropriate
cost accounting procedures and methods.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Works closely with sales, procurement and packaging engineering staffs to develop costs
and pricing of new products.
Prepare cost estimates for new products
Participation in the development and continuous improvement of standard product costs.
Analyze the impact of changes in production processes on
o Materials
o Labor and relative overhead costs for preparation of product cost
Valuation of inventory and performance reporting.
Responsible for routine compilation of manufacturing costs, inventory accountability,
distribution of factory labor, verification of actual costs and computation of variances,
etc.
Provide a monthly cost run by analyzing bill of material components and moving average
costs.

Education and Experience:
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent plus 2-4 years experience in cost accounting.
