Rho Zeta Omega Chapter Celebrate Women in Sports MARIETTA, GA – February 1, 2011 – League of Women Voters Marietta-Cobb, the YWCA of Northwest Georgia and Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. Rho Zeta Omega Chapter will host the Third Annual Celebrating History Through Her Story on Saturday, March 5, 2011 from 10 a.m. until 12 p.m. at InfoMart, in honor of Women’s History Month. This year’s focus will be Women in Sports. Chairing the event are Pam Flournoy with the League of Women Voters Marietta-Cobb and Holly Comer, CEO & Executive Director of the YWCA. The event will be a highlight of Women’s History Month and there will be no charge to attend. Panelists include Brittney Bottoms (Free Skating Champion), Philippa Raschker (Track and Field Champion), Jen Plante (Women’s Professional Soccer), Tamara Merritt Irving (Dancer/Gymnast) and Gloria Beauchene (Basketball). Moderator for this event will be Dr. Lisa Rossbacher, President, Southern Polytechnic State University. The League of Women Voters, a nonpartisan political organization, encourages the informed and active participation of citizens in government, and influences public policy through education and advocacy.
