First-Year Advising Requirement
All first-year (freshmen) students are required to meet with an academic advisor twice in their first year. This
requirement is enforced with the “FY-Advising Required” hold which prevents access to the registration system until
you have met with an academic advisor in First-Year & Undeclared Advising Services or in the department of your
major. If you see an advisor in your major department, you must notify First-Year & Undeclared Advising Services
to have the FY hold removed. The “FY-Advising Required” hold will be placed on your account two times in your
first year – 1) prior to registration for your second semester and 2) prior to registration for your third semester.
Scheduling an advising appointment with First-Year & Undeclared Advising Services
Appointments can be made by calling 678-797-2860 or visiting the office in 202 Willingham Hall.
