ATOMIC THEORY LESSONS ARE A HUGE HIT
Last week at Atomic Theory Mr Stuart taught us something
called atoms. Atoms are everywhere, even in our bodies. It
was very surprising when we found out that atoms are in the
air! Mr Stuart had this huge air gun and when he pulled back
and released the air, we could feel the atoms hitting our
faces. We saw a song which was called the Periodic Table
Song and that was a lot of fun. We couldn't stop singing it!
We were very surprised when a small piece of gold could feel
so heavy. We also weighed some interesting things on the
scale, and wow, the lead weighed 337 grams! Yvette

I had so much fun learning about atoms. We got to hold real
gold. (It was really heavy) 4F knows half of The Periodic

In Atomic Theory we learnt about atoms. One of my favourite
parts of the lesson is singing the periodic table. So far we
have seen the periodic table and what the signs and numbers
are in each square. The lightest atom is Hydrogen and its
symbol is H and its number is 1 because it is the lightest atom
therefore it is at the top of the periodic table. We have also
done a sheet where we were given a scale and some elements
and had to weigh them and write down the weight in grams.

Atomic theory was fun! I loved learning about all the
different atoms and how they are a liquid or a solid. I never
knew so much about atoms until I went to the atomic theory
lessons. But my favourite part was listening to the Periodic
Table Song. They sang the whole 118 atoms. I loved it so
much I went home and studied it and now I can sing to
Krypton, the 36th atom on the table. I learnt lots so far and I
can't wait for the next lesson! Skye Hill 4F
This week in additional learning we have been learning
about atoms in Atomic Theory. Since we have been doing
these lessons, I have learnt a lot. Also, we are learning a
song about the elements of the periodic table. It's quite fast
but it's a good learning experience all the same. We have
been learning about elements, for example: GOLD AND
COPPER are elements because they are only made up of one
sort of atom. There are different sorts of atoms like they can
be heavy or light or different in colour. I have learnt a lot...

YEAR 4B CHAPEL SERVICE
This semester, Year 4B have focused on the theme, “Keep Calm and Play Nice” for Personal Development lessons. The
girls presented a prayerful service, reflecting on playing nicely, saying sorry, forgiving others, forgiving ourselves and
sparkling at school and home.
