IT GUIDE WWW.NHH.NO/IT IT SUPPORT FOR STUDENTS IT ACCOUNT As a student at NHH you will get access to IT services that will play an important role in your school work. The IT support for students is here to help you solve your problems concerning these services. You will get a short introduction in this guide about important services that influence your school day. Please visit our home page, www.nhh.no/it, if you want more information. FIRST LOGIN IT support for students has two offices, one at the library in the Servicebuilding and one in Nybygget. The offices are open Monday- Friday. In addition, the office in the library is open on Saturdays. The opening hours can be found at www.nhh.no. Problems concerning private computers are not our responsibility. • • • Username: sXXXXXX Password: nhh!pinkodepinkode (This should be changed the first time you log in) Your student mail account, the school computers, the network Eduroam, your It's Learning account and Studentweb via Feide uses the same password. You will need a personal username and password to use NHH’s network. Your username is your student number. You will find the pin code on the invoice we have given you, at the Information Centre or at the International Relations Office. An example of a pin code is 1234, that means a student with student number s130000 use s130000 as username and write nhh!12341234 as password. CONTACT US E-post: hjelp@nhh.no Tlf.: 55 95 95 57 CHANGE OF PASSWORD You can change your password in several ways: https://selfservice.nhh.no/passwordreset http://webmail.nhh.no ––› «Alternativer» ––› «Endre passordet» At a school computer: Press ctrl+alt+delete and «change a password» IT support office • • • • The requirement for your password is at least 8 characters, capital (big) and small letters, at least one number (digit) or special character. In addition it cannot be your name or parts of it. An example of an accepted password is “Bergen123”. FORGOTTEN PASSWORD? 1. Go to https://selfservice.nhh.no/passwordreset 2. Press “Reissue password“ 3. Type your alternate mail address. Use the address that is registered in Student Web (under registration - address). When changing this e-mail address, please note that it may take up to 24 hours until the system is updated. 4. In case of problems, contact hjelp@nhh.no or visit the IT-support office. 2 3 E- MAIL AND IT’S LEARNING USING THE COMPUTERS AT NHH E-MAIL M-AREA • All students have their own hard drive called M-area for saving their files. This can be found under “My computer” and then “Network Location”. It is important that you save your files in your M-area and not on the desktop because we only take back up of the files located in the M-area. Your student e-mail address has the formats: firstname.surname@stud.nhh.no and sXXXXXX@stud.nhh.no" Login: http://webmail.nhh.no (Or Microsoft Outlook on a school computer) Username: sXXXXXX Password: same as on a school computer, Studentweb via Feide and Eduroam. • • • NHH will only use this address to contact students with important information and messages. This includes information from the Student Administration, the International Relations Office and the library. All students are obliged to check this email account on a regular basis, or make sure the e-mails get forwarded to another address you use. Forgot password to the mail account? 1. Go to https://selfservice.nhh.no/passwordreset 2. Follow the same steps described at the previous page. IT’S LEARNING It’s Learning is a web based e-learning system. In this system you will find all the information about your courses. The system is also used to send relevant information to the students. Login: 1. Go to http://nhh.itslearning.com/elogin 2. Select the option “Log in with FEIDE” 3. Username: sXXXXXX 4. Your password is the same as you use to login to the NHH-account 5. In case of problems, contact hjelp@nhh.no or visit the IT support office. All students are obliged to follow NHH’s IT rules when using the M-are, and abuse can result in suspension. The rules can be found at our home page. LOGIN • • SOFTWARE NHH uses View/VDI clients, which means you can access your content and special programs either from school or from your personal computer through desktop.nhh.no. When logged in you have access to programs needed for your education. This includes for example Adobe Acrobat X Pro and Microsoft Office. Under «NHH Spesielle Programmer» and «NHH Standard Programmer» in the start menu you can find other programs that NHH got available. To access the programs Datastream and SDC needed by some master students, contact the IT-support office. PINCODE FOR FOR USE OF ACCESS CARD (STUDENT CARD) In order to access school and the computer labs after opening hours you need the pin code for your student card. This can be found by: 1. 2. 3. 4. 5. 4 Username: sXXXXXX Password: Same as your NHH-mail account, Studentweb via Feide and Eduroam Opening the start menu Type «pinkode» in the search field Open the Pinkode program Accept the conditions Remember your four digits pin code. It is personal and cannot be changed. 5 PRINTERS Recharge your student card: Go to https://epay.nhh.no To use the printers, you will need a PUK code: 1. Login at https://epay.nhh.no with your username (sXXXXXX@stud.nhh.no) and password 2. Press «Setup» and then choose the tab named “Codes” 3. Click on the option «Generate new PUK» 4. Write down the PUK code, it can only be generated one time. 5. Swipe your student card at one of the printers. 6. Type in your newly generated PUK code and you will be able print. • • When printing, it is important to be aware of the type of printer you choose since the document can only be obtained from this type of printer. The printers are labeled with names (HP and OCE). • • • Safecom-OCE-printers can: Print in black and white Copy OCE prints more pages per minute than HP • • How to print in color: 1. Press CTRL+P or go to File -> Print 2. Press «Printer properties» 3. Go to the tab named “color” 4. Remove the mark on «Print in greyscale» 5. Remember to choose the HP printer Printing prices: Scan to mail: Free Copy: 0,90 kr per sheet (two sided). Printing: Black and white: 0,20 kr per sheet (one sided), 0,25 kr for two sided. Color: 0,75 kr per sheet (one sided), 1,25 kr for two sided. As a new student at NHH your student card is loaded with 50 kr. This can only be used on the printers. 6 PRIVATE COMPUTER WIRELESS NETWORK AT NHH Type of printers at the NHH: Safecom-HP Safecom-OCE Safecom-HP-printers can: Print in color or black and white Copy Scan From a school computer, you will be automatically logged in. If you use a private computer, use the same username and password as for your IT-account. In order to recharge your student card from outside of NHH, you need to be logged through either secure.nhh.no/ secure.privnett.nhh.no or the view client desktop.nhh.no. • • • Eduroam Instructions can be found at http://www.nhh.no/it or at the IT support office. The guest network (nhh-guest) is primarily for guests at NHH and gives a 24 hours access. In order to get internet access at SIB’s student housing, please visit SIB’s homepage for information about connecting to internet at SIB housing: http://www.sib.no/no/bolig/beboer/internet. Username and password are the same as your NHH IT-account. Beyond this, connecting to internet at student housing is beyond our responsibility. ADD A PRINTER TO YOUR PERSONAL COMPUTER (WINDOWS AND MAC) You can add the schools printers to your personal computer. User guide for how to do this can be found at our home page and at our offices. WORK AT HOME You can access your M-area in two ways: http://www.secure.nhh.no / http://www.secure.privnett.nhh.no (From SIB student housing) https://desktop.nhh.no • • Through the secure service you can access web-based services at school, like ordnett.no and e-pay.nhh.no. By using the desktop service, you can log on to a school computer from your own private pc.
