BRADFORD CADMUS MEMORIAL AWARD
The Bradford Cadmus Memorial Award is one of the highest honors or tributes bestowed by The
Institute on individuals impacting the internal auditing profession. It was created in 1965 in memory of
Bradford Cadmus, the first Managing Director of The Institute, to recognize IIA members or non-members
who have made outstanding international contributions in the field of internal auditing.
Nominations for the award are considered annually on the basis of nominees' achievements and
their contributions to research, education, publications, or other developments and activities in the field of
internal auditing. Since 1966, the Bradford Cadmus Memorial Award has been bestowed upon 48
outstanding practitioners, stakeholders, educators or supporters of the profession of internal auditing.
There is no obligation to make the award in any year. The number of awards to be made in a single
year is also left to the discretion of the awards committee.
All Institute members are eligible to make nominations for the award. However, incumbent
members of the Executive Committee and the Awards Committee, as well as paid employees of The IIA, are
not eligible to receive the award.
The deadline for receipt of nominations is February 28, 2013.
