MBA PROGRAM OVERVIEW
Victoria University and Brilliance Business School Master of Business Administration
(MBA) program is a high-standard program that is relevant and responsive to
business trends. The program is designed for future managers, business leaders and
entrepreneurs looking forward to shifting their career to the next level. It will expose
participants to a solid foundation course that includes business fundamentals, tools,
and models useful for making decisions.
Throughout the MBA program, participants will expand their learning capacities and
business experiences. Every participant will acquire indispensable skills and
knowledge to succeed in his/her business career. The duration of the MBA course is
one year and participants must successfully complete all courses with final thesis.

MBA PROGRAM STRUCTURE
MBA program course is comprised of 10 courses that split into two groups as follows:
 Foundation Courses - provide MBA participants with a solid academic foundation.
Foundation courses are common for all MBA participants which consist of 7 courses.
 Specialization Courses - allow MBA participants the opportunity to develop further a specific
area of interest. Each participant has to select one area of specialization which consists of 3
courses.
 A thesis should be submitted in a field of the participant’s choice at the end of the program.

MBA FOUNDATION COURSES IN DETAIL
Managerial Economics (3 Credits)
This course applies microeconomic analysis to decision
methods of businesses and other management units
and the science of directing scarce resources to
manage costs effectively. Understanding the course
consists of three branches: competitive markets,
market power, and imperfect markets.
Finance and Accounting (3 Credits)
This course is concerned with a branch of economics
about resource allocation as well as management,
acquisition and investment; and the systematic
recording, reporting, and analysis of financial
transactions of a business.
Production Management (3 Credits)
This course deals with the entire physical and strategic
dimensions of conversion of material and parts inputs
into final products. The span extends from plant layout
and material flow to inventory holding, production lot
size determination, and quality control. Issues of
product packing and packaging are explored. The
function has quantitative and strategic dimensions and
these are included in the coverage.
Management Theory (3 Credits)
This course addresses all business areas and human
organization activity needed to get people together to
accomplish desired goals and objectives. Management
comprises planning, organizing, staffing, leading or
directing, and controlling an organization.
Marketing Management (3 Credits)
This course examines the concepts, strategies, and
applications involved with marketing. The course
addresses the problem of designing and implementing
the most effective mix of marketing variables to carry
out the firm's objectives in its target markets.
Marketing Management aims to develop the
participant's skills in applying analytical methods,
decision tools and marketing concepts.
Strategic Management (3 Credits)
This course is concerned with the long-term direction
and performance of the whole organization. It examines
organizations from the ‘‘strategic management''
perspective of top management. The concepts and skills
presented are applicable at all levels of management and
to the variety of roles leaders, executives, and managers.
Organizational Behavior (3 Credits)
This course examines the range of individual and group
behavior in an organization. Topics: personality and
attitudes, perception, motivation in the work setting,
group and team behavior, leadership, interpersonal
communication, and organizational design and culture.

The school is officially registered at Neuchâtel Canton and is entitled to offer programs leading to a BBA, an MBA, an
EMBA and a DBA degree. VU is a member of the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB) and
the European Council for Business Education (ECBE).
Victoria University is certified by the nationally accrediting agency EduQua (www.eduqua.ch). EduQua is an official
Swiss accreditation body recognized and supported by the Swiss Confederate Government; it’s the first quality
certification for public and private educational institutions in Switzerland. EduQua is the premier quality assurance

PREVIOUS COURSES AND CREDIT TRANSFER
GRADUATION AND AWARDING BODY
BBS and VU accept transfer of credit of previous
courses taken from other recognized educational
institutions.
Transfer participants must arrange all required
materials, including official transcripts, to be forwarded
to the Admissions Office. Until all records are available
to the Admissions Committee, the transfer participant
will be enrolled under a conditional admission
agreement. All requests must be submitted on a form
provided by the school. Courses should have a business
focus.
Graduation
Participants must successfully complete all courses. The
courses are assessed by means of both coursework and
examination. Thesis is required to be submitted to
complete the MBA program.
