OCI – On Campus Interviews Section The OCI section displays two tabs, Interview Requests and Scheduled Interviews. When you apply for an OCI position, your status will be listed in the Interview Requests tab as “Pending” status immediately after applying. Your status will change once ‘Pre-select’ signup starts. If you are ‘Pre-selected’ for an interview, click the “Scheduled Interviews” tab to view available interview times; you will have the opportunity to choose a date and time. A sidebar with information about the position is located on the right. You may also decline an interview by clicking “decline”. On your CareerBuzz Home Page is a link to “Scheduled Campus Interviews”. On Campus Interviews are only available to current students and registered alumni (up to two-years post graduation). Qualifications for OCI To qualify for any OCI job you must meet the employer’s set requirements for degree, major, graduation date and work authorization. If you do not meet any one of these, you will not be allowed to submit your resume. It is important to keep your ‘Profile’ current since this is where the system matches your background to the employer’s requirements. When you find an OCI job where you meet the requirements, on the very bottom of the job description is a ‘How to apply’ link. From this link you will be prompted to submit the required documents. If the link is not active and you meet all the requirements listed on the job description, check ‘Deadlines’. You can only submit your resume for jobs during the ‘Preselect Resume Submission’ dates listed on the job description. Please be aware, all resume submission deadlines begin at 12:00 PM (midnight) on the first date and end at 11:59 PM Eastern Time on the last date. Once you have submitted your application, the employer may select you as either an ‘Invite’ or an ‘Alternate.’ Interview Selections If you are an ‘Invited’, you will receive an email around midnight the night before the start of the invite signup period listed on the job description. The email will include a hyperlink to CareerBuzz and the employer’s interview calendar. Select an interview time that works for you. You only have a limited number of days to select a time before alternates are allowed to sign up. If you decide you do not want to be interviewed, do not select a time slot. Your CareerBuzz home page will also include an ‘Alert’ that you are an invited. 8 If you are selected as an ‘Alternate’, you will receive an email around midnight the night before the ‘Alternate Signup’ date listed on the job description. The email will include a hyperlink to CareerBuzz and the employer’s interview calendar. You will only be able to select an interview time if one is still available. Your CareerBuzz home page will also include an ‘Alert’ that you are an alternate. If you are not selected as either a ‘Preselect’ or ‘Alternate’ and you meet all the employer requirements, and you had not previously submitted your resume for the position, you may still be able to sign-up for an interview on the ‘Open Signup’ date listed on the job description if a time slot is still available. Canceling an Interview Appointment If you cannot attend a scheduled interview, you must cancel it at least 5 days prior to the interview date. You can cancel the interview in CareerBuzz from your “Interviews” link. If you need to cancel less then 5 days before the interview date, you must notify the Career Services Office at 404-894-2550 AND email at monique.morris@success.gatech.edu. When you cancel on-line at least 5 days prior to the interview there is no penalty. In addition you give other students a chance to be interviewed. Cancellation of an interview less than 5 days prior to the interview date is in violation of the No-Show Policy and may result in access restrictions to your CareerBuzz account. Official documentation and an apology email are required. The full No-Show Policy guidelines are available under Quick Links on your CareerBuzz home page.
