State of Mississippi - MAGIC Project 2011
The purpose of this document is to determine the extent of use of the Inventory Management and/or
Warehouse Management Modules for the State of Mississippi Agencies.
At this time, it is not known who the players are and to what extent the Inventory and Warehouse
Management Modules are to be utilized. We cannot move forward in defining the Organizational Structure for the State of Mississippi in the Logistics area of the SAP system without identifying the Agencies that will make use of the functionality available in Inventory Management/Warehouse Management.
Inventory and Warehouse Management
Agencies that will implement Inventory and/or Warehouse Management need to be identified/named to facilitate the scope definition for these areas of functionality as well as allowing the logistics organization structure to be defined accurately.
The State does not currently operate a state-wide Inventory Management system. Research by the State has shown that approximately 30 Agencies report some level of valued inventory at fiscal year end.
Initial discussions were held with four key Agencies who were known to have inventory management functionality. These agencies were Department of Public Safety, Department of Corrections, Department of
Wildlife, Fisheries and Parks, Department of Finance and Administration.
During initial Overview sessions for Blueprint, additional Agencies have shown an interest, including
Health, Transportation, Agriculture & Commerce, and State Hospital, Department of Education.
