DPS Go GREEN Week
POSTER CONTEST
During DPS Go Green Week, students are invited to create a
poster showing how to Go Green in their school or their home
by Saving Energy, Recycling, Cleaning up their Neighborhood,
Gardening, Walking and Biking, or any other way they can
help the environment and their community.
Who can enter: All DPS Students grades K-12
Grade Categories: K-2, 3-5, 6-8 and 9-12
Overview:
Each school will select up to 2 semi-finalists from each grade
group: K-2, 3-5, 6-8 and 9-12 and send the entries for final
judging in a District-Wide Contest. See Contest Guidelines for
more details.
PRIZES
Each school semi-finalist will be awarded a participation certificate.
Winners and Runner-Ups at the District-Wide Contest in each Grade
Category will receive a DPS Go Green T-Shirt and Cool Lorax Items
Winning Artwork will be featured on DPS website and will be displayed
at DPS Administration Offices

Contest Guidelines
Artwork:
Students create a poster to demonstrate how to Go Green in their school or their home.
o Use paper or card stock, up to size 11 x 17.
o Any medium can be used: paint, crayons, pencil, collage, photos, stencils, etc.
o Use of recycled paper if you can
o No glitter or copyright or trademark images.
o Do not include the student’s name on the face of the artwork.
o Do not include matting or framing with submission.
One Entry per student
Write School Name, Student Name and Grade Level on the back of the Artwork
Judging Criteria:
Concept: Does it communicate a Go Green theme or message?
Creativity: Is the art original and unique?
Quality: Is there effective use of materials?
Deadline & Submission:
Each Participating Schools can select up to two submissions from each
age category (K-2, 3-5, 6-8, and 9-12) to submit for District-wide judging.
District-wide submissions are due by email or DPS Interoffice Mail on Monday, December
3 at 5pm EDT.
