I will pose questions on the screen during lecture. You will have the opportunity to discuss the question with other students Answer using your i>clicker remote. A graph with the class results will be displayed on the screen. We discuss the questions and answers. You get points (for participating and answering correctly)! Clicker video Challenging questions that generate peer-topeer controversy create teachable moments. 1 12/9/2010 Syllabus Statement Grading Excerpt from PHYS1101 Syllabus “Bonus points up to 2% of your final grade will be awarded based on in-class clicker question participation and correct response to clicker questions (one point for a correct response, zero points for an incorrect response, and one point for participation). Scores for the lowest 20 questions will be deleted prior to finalizing bonus points for the semester (no make-up for in-class questions).” Excerpt from PHYS1101 Syllabus “You are required to purchase an i>clicker remote for inclass participation. i>clicker is a response system that allows you to respond to questions during class. In order to receive this credit, you will need to register your i>clicker remote online within one week after using the clicker in class. You must have come to class at least once and voted on at least one question in order to complete this registration properly. Once you have voted on a question in class, go to http://www.iclicker.com/registration. Complete the fields with your first name, last name, student ID, and remote ID. Your student ID is your LaGrange College ID. The remote ID is the series of numbers and sometimes letters found on the bottom of the back of your i>clicker remote. i>clicker will be used every day in class, and you are responsible for bringing your remote daily.” The vertical dashed line on the chart shows the energy of the Skater, where could she be on the track?
