Little League/ Junior League Position Description: Head Coach The Head Coach of any state representative team (i.e., SA Bite) is a critical role model and mentor to our best amateur ballplayers. Baseball SA personnel are responsible for establishing a team culture that adheres to (or exceeds) the standards of Baseball SA and Baseball Australia, which includes action, attitude, image, and demeanour. Accordingly, all Baseball SA personnel must lead by example both on- and off-field, especially in regards to fair play, respect, ethics, dedication, and tenacity. Specifically the Head Coach shall be required to the following duties as instructed: A. B. C. D. E. F. G. H. I. J. K. L. M. N. O. P. Q. R. S. T. In conjunction with Baseball SA personnel, recruit and employ appropriately qualified coaches and Executive Officer; In conjunction with Baseball SA personnel and the coaching staff, develop team selection criteria and coordinate team selection process; Assign coach roles and responsibilities, and communicate those roles and responsibilities in writing to all team staff and Baseball SA personnel; Develop and submit to Baseball SA personnel a training program plan; In conjunction with Baseball SA personnel, coordinate an on-field training program that aligns with Baseball Australia and/or Baseball SA player development standards; Submit detailed training session plans to Baseball SA personnel prior to training sessions; Ensure availability of facility and equipment training sessions and games; Ensure training sessions are conducted according to documented session plans, and outcomes are achieved, as per the direction of Baseball SA personnel; Ensure training sessions adhere to suitable health and safety standards for all staff and participants; Ensure athletes are adequately prepared to participate in competitive tournament baseball; Comprehend and foster the development of key player development characteristics in alignment with Baseball SA and Baseball Australia curriculum, as per the direction of Baseball SA personnel; Ensure Baseball Australia’s and/or Baseball SA’s Code of Conduct, Social Media Policy, Match Fixing Policy, Heat Policy and dress codes are adhered to and enforced; Ensure team rules and culture is consistently enforced at all times; Commit to travel with the team to and from the competition and dedicate significant effort to facilitate the achievement of team goals whilst onsite at the competition; Possess NCAS Level 3 accreditation; Possess, or successfully complete prior to competition deadline, a SAPOL Police Certificate or similar national working with children check; Adhere strictly to Baseball Australia’s and/or Baseball SA’s Code of Conduct, Social Media Policy, Match Fixing Policy, and Heat Policy; Complete “Play by the Rules” child health and safety module; Abstain publicly from alcohol and tobacco whilst executing duties associated with this position Present well at all times and adhere to Baseball SA dress code. And while onsite at a competitive event: U. V. Manage on-field team performance; Ensure all players meet participation requirements; Little League/ Junior League Position Description: Head Coach W. Complete a daily game report and transmit to Baseball SA personnel; Manage behaviour of athletes and staff, and notify Baseball SA immediately regarding any behaviour management issues; Notify Baseball SA of any athletes or coaches that require medical attention and report each injury; Follow all reasonable directions, instructions, and adjudications issued by Baseball SA and/or the Tournament Director; Assist Executive Officer, and/or Baseball SA personnel, as required in off-field matters; and Provide direction and support to Assistant Coaches and Executive Officers.
