Renato Poggioli
(1907-1963)
Renato Poggioli, a distinguished scholar in
Comparative Literature, Slavic and Italian Studies
was a Professor at Smith College, Brown University
and Harvard University between 1938 and 1963.
He was author of several seminal studies and

Renato Poggioli was also a militant anti-fascist
and one of the founders, in 1938, of the Mazzini
Society, in Northampton, MA, the largest anti-fascist
organization outside Italy.
