Our History
Our Members
Our Culture
It began on June 20, 1922, when a
group of 25 military officers gathered
to discuss their difficulties in obtaining
auto insurance, since they were considered “high risk.” From those humble
beginnings, USAA has grown into a
highly competitive financial services
company, adding life insurance, banking, investments, financial planning,
and many other member services.
USAA has the privilege to serve
members of the U.S. military and their
families. Since we were founded by
the military for the military, we are
intimately familiar with the lifestyle,
and can anticipate the special circumstances our members find themselves
in. That’s why our products and
services are designed to address those
unique needs. And why we emphasize
service – recruiting only the best
employees to provide our members
the superior service they deserve.
On that day in 1922, a legacy of service
was born. That service foundation,
along with our Core Values, defines
our workplace of employees dedicated
to collaborating as a team in serving
our members.
