The CCNA exam is one of the most popular IT certifications with an
estimated 105,000 people taking the exam every year. Cisco Certified
Network Associate (CCNA®) validates the ability to install, configure,
operate and troubleshoot medium-size route and switched networks,
including implementation and verification of connections to remote
sites in a WAN.
Last updated in 2007, this long anticipated revision represents some
significant changes to the old exam. With the existing exam retiring
in September 2013 the need for updated materials will be high as you
will be eager to start planning your new courses.

Changes to the new CCNA exam
New focus on Routing & Switching as concentration
CCNA has evolved from foundation to concentration and is being
renamed CCNA Routing and Switching. This means that the CCENT
exam is now the base exam, and what used to be just CCNA is
now CCNA Routing and Switching. The new CCNA Routing and
Switching exams are now along the same lines of Voice, Security,
and Wireless, meaning it is now considered a concentration instead
of the prerequisite.
Updated Job Role Alignment
Aligns with industry evolution of Associate-level job roles, which
now includes comprehensive troubleshooting, implementation.
