Mechanical Engineering, Georgia Tech PROJECT EXPERIENCE Project: Drop-on-Demand Deposition of Complex Fluids for 3-D Manufacturing (3-D Inkjet printing) Aug. 2009 ~ Fabricated the nozzle in cleanroom for generating droplets. Developed a numerical model to simulate the droplet impact on the substrate. Project: The detach process of double helix DNA under electrostatic field. Sept. 2008 ~ June 2009 Built a double helix DNA using Configuration Biased Monte Carlo method. Generated the LAMMPS data file with force field information. Simulated how the double helix DNA detaches from each other under electrostatic field using LAMMPS. Tools: LAMMPS, CHARMM, VMD, Towhee, X3DNA, MPich Project: Capacitive Micromachined Ultrasonic Transducer based on Post-CMOS process. July 2007~Sept. 2008 Developed a simplified 1-D model to analyze the performance of different parameters of CMUT in both transmitting and receiving mode. Developed a theoretical model to obtain the 1-D equivalent parameters used in the 1-D model. Optimized the design parameters of CMUT by simulation and our 1-D Model Designed the fabrication process of CMUT and simulate the fabrication process. Flowed the chip. Tools: Matlab, ANSYS, Mathematica, Conventorware. Project: A Digital tunable angle measuring instrument using MEMS Accelerometer. March 2007~June 2007 Constructed the system using different modules: Angle measuring module, temperature measuring module, A/D converter, data processing module, mode selection, LCD display module, PWM signal control module, and serial communication module. Designed the circuit and developed the program. Tools: Keil C, Protel Project: The design and simulation of 3-D laser scanner of shoe last. Oct. 2005~June 2006 Constructed the simulation system of 3-D Laser scanner of shoe last using 3D Max. Analyzed the methods and process of calibration of camera in the system, and develop a new algorithm for acquiring the corner point of the calibration block. Developed a way of obtaining the 3-D points from the 2-D images and a new algorithm for laser stripe matching. Tools: UG, 3D Max, Matlab, Imageware Project: Course election system March 2004~June 2004 Developed the course elective algorithm and the data management system Tools: ASP, SQL Server, VB Script LEADERSHIP EXPERIENCE Cofounder of the largest student organization DAAC in Huazhong Univ. of Sci.&Tech Co-founded DAAC and developed it into the largest student organization (over 3000 members when I left) DAAC was founded to provide on-campus jobs to students and to manage the jobs Organized donations of aid materials for flooded area and sent the donations to the disaster area in person Organized a summer internship fair in Wuhan City (164 Companies and over 10,000 students participated) Class President in Huazhong Univ. of Sci.&Tech Won 'Top 10 Class Award' (less than 1%) four semesters in a row when I was incumbent Created a friendly, harmonious and tightly united class environment by communication and respect Wenchao Zhou 2 Curriculum Vitae Dept.
