Commercial Off-Site Solar Example
GENERAL: For the purpose of this document, “Party” refers to the client Party.
Project Description – Atlantic Energy Alternatives, and their solar development
partners, propose to finance, design, procure, construct and maintain a photovoltaic
(PV) solar energy system for the delivery of solar energy to the client party.
Wheeling - Remote solar site delivery of energy to the buyer. Atlantic Energy
Alternatives and their development partners maintain solar sites from which solar
power can be delivered to a Party, without the placement of solar panels on the
physical location of the energy user. Typically, solar can be delivered within a 60
mile radius of the solar site, with delivery depending on variables such as distance
from the interconnector and amount of solar energy delivered.
Delivery of solar to a commercial business is currently at a $.065 (6 ½ cents per
kWh) with a 01% - 02% escalator included as part of a 10 - 20 year Power Purchase
Agreement. Commercial solar is also subject to financial review and requires an
investment grade of BBB or better from D&B or S&P to substantiate the agreement.
Aggregated Net Energy Metering is a solar energy purchase of power generated at an
off- site location, with interconnection directly into the grid. Solar can then be
delivered to multiple locations, controlled by one central corporate office.
The Power purchase Agreement requires the Buyer to purchase a contractual amount
of solar electric power generated by the solar site(s). The contract is set in dollars per
kWh with a fixed annual escalation percentage. The term of the agreement is 10- 20
years. The parties agree to use the Atlantic Energy Alternatives (or other solar
partner) PPA for all transactions and that standard terms and conditions will apply.
The PPA is subject to review and approval by all Parties.
Once the analysis is complete and you are ready to proceed, you may be asked to
provide 3 years of financial statements prior to contract signing.
All final rates and terms are defined in the Power Purchase Agreement.
