Spend one fun-filled day learning easy strategies to help you with critical thinking and clinical reasoning situations.

Accelerated Learning techniques and the Educational

Theory of Cognitive Learning are the framework for this workshop. You will learn to prioritize medications and nursing care, associate learning by using mnemonics, music, active learning, images and color. You will be able to remember those drugs while having fun. You will improve your test-taking skills and boost your confidence.

Loretta Manning, MSN, RN, GNP

Loretta is the President and Co-Founder of I CAN Publishing ® ,

Inc., an organization that specializes in services and resources to simplify complex information for nursing students and faculty.

She is a nurse practitioner with a clinical background in pediatric trauma. Loretta is an award-wining instructor that has taught in ADN, BSN and MSN programs. She has been a Director of

Children’s and Woman’s Services at Willis Knighton Medical

Center in Shreveport, LA, and serves as a consultant in many schools of nursing.

Loretta earned her MSN in nursing from Indiana University, BSN from Indiana State University in Terre Haute, Indiana, and Nurse

Practitioner Certificate from The University of North Carolina in

Greensboro, NC. She is an international speaker and a sought after resource for faculty development and student presentations.

Her expertise is in developing nursing faculty particularly in the areas of NCLEX ® , item writing, teaching strategies and pharmacology focusing on integrating patient safety and Joint

Commission Standards in both clinical and the classroom.

Loretta has worked both nationally and internationally with nursing students in preparation for the NCLEX ® .

Participants must attend entire activity or activities to receive credit. No partial credit is given for this activity.

Early registration fee is $115 for RNs and LPNs; $75 for RN

Refreshers; and $75 for students if received by February 26, 2016.

For registrations received after February 26th, the total cost will be the registtation fee + $15.00. Registration fee includes administrative costs and educational materials.

MAHEC has a pay-up-front policy for all CE programs. The only exceptions will be for pre-approved programs where an individual payment plan is appropriate. Registrations received without accompanying payment will not be processed and participants who have not paid the course fee will not be admitted into the program.

Cancellations received at least two weeks in advance of the program date will receive a full refund unless otherwise noted. Cancellations received between two weeks and up to 48 hours prior to the program date will receive a 70% refund unless otherwise noted. No refunds will be given for cancellations received less than 48 hours prior to the program date. All cancellations must be made in writing (fax, mail, or email). Substitutes can be accommodated in advance of the program.
