You will do this within and outside Statistics New Zealand in support of our role as a steward of data. This is a broad role that will see you: Bringing an information management lens to corporate, technology and statistical situations Actively engaging throughout the public sector and across the New Zealand ‘data ecosystem’ to drive Statistics NZ’s role as a steward of data Developing and reviewing information management strategy and policy to be used by and promoted by Statistics NZ Key to the success of this role is: Critical and analytical thinking to address complex system-wide problems and identify solutions. Effective engagement and relationships with key players externally and internally. Key deliverables/accountabilities You will be expected to: Improve information management practices at Statistics NZ You will achieve this by: Influencing thinking and behaviours across our organisation to make the best use of information management practice and theory Providing insight, knowledge and wisdom on how to implement effective, fit-for-purpose information management. Providing an information management view point on a wide range of corporate, statistical and technology issues Keeping up to date with emerging issues and trends in information management and related areas. Facilitate and lead information Identifying and leading the adoption of innovative, effective, management initiatives for information management practices at Statistics NZ and Statistics NZ across government Actively seeking out opportunities to act on Statistics NZ's strategic priority to be a steward for data now and in the future.
