We invite you to be a part of the NC State tradition which combines the best of competition, fun, and doughnuts – the 9 th
Annual Krispy Kreme Challenge.
• Annual student-led race in Raleigh, NC.
• To complete the Krispy Kreme Challenge, competitors begin at the NC State Bell Tower, run 2.5 miles to the Krispy Kreme store on Peace
Street, eat 1 dozen doughnuts, and run 2.5 miles back to the Bell Tower – all in under one hour.
• Organized, planned, and executed by N.C. State students.
• Increased from 10 participants in 2004 to nearly
7,700 in 2012.
• Runners in 2012 from 44 states, 16 countries, and the District of Colombia.
• ESPN sent a reporter to cover and run the race in 2009.
• Named the “most difficult road race in the country” by ESPN on SportsCenter.
• Ranked number 1 in the “54 Things to do at NC
State” list (http://students.ncsu.edu/top54/)
• The Krispy Kreme Challenge benefits the North
Carolina Children’s Hospital, donating $127,000 in 2012 and over $374,000 to date.

• This year, we will be going “green” with race packets that are electronic. All promotional materials should be provided in a .pdf format. If you wish to distribute paper materials, there is an option to distribute them at check in.
• Race entries are a $32 value to non-students. ($39 after
1/1/13)
• In-Kind donations are also welcome and will be taken into consideration as cash equivalents towards sponsorship.
