You will be graded on your ability to maintain the diction and syntax of your character while demonstrating an understanding of the plot, themes, and any relevant connections to your CIP topic. To really feel the part, dress like your persona too! What will you do on the three days that you are not a part of the discussion? Inevitably your CIP topic will come up at least three of the four days, so you will need to write up a concept connection map. See page 3 of this document! Before this conversation of characters and/or authors, you and your partner must provide the following in a ONE‐PAGE google doc that you share with me. It must be fully completed before discussion so that it can be projected during your discussion. The following should be in your document for you and your partner: ; Heading: Your full name, your persona, your CIP topic, your partner’s information, assigned chapters, ; Image of Your Personas: Find either an actual image of your persona if an author, or use IMDb for your character image. If no previous image for your character exists, then you will have to think like a casting director and find the image, clothes and type on your own! This will be a great chance to see how to dress! Both personas should be in the document. ;Summary of Chapters: In two to three sentences, summarize the key events of each of your chapters. Resist the temptation: DO NOT PLAGUARIZE from a study guide resource. We will check, and you will be punished. ; Rock Star Quotes: Select one quote per chapter that spotlights the, or one of the, most important themes in the chapter. ; Bulleted List of Talking Points: Based on the quotation you select for each chapter, write one talking point for each chapter. Relate it to your CIP topic if appropriate. ; Description of the Style of Your Persona: In two to three sentences, do a quick rhetorical analysis of the style of your persona by identifying the kinds of syntax and diction he/she uses and the effect it creates. 2 CIP Persona Practice AP Language and Composition CIP Final Connection and Semester Review Lee‐Chin/Lundberg RUBRIC Please bring this rubric to class on the day of your discussion and self‐assess immediately after your discussion group goes.
