Articulation / Guaranteed Transfer Agreements

Articulation and Guaranteed Admission Agreements
DCC students who intend to transfer to four-year colleges or universities may
take advantage of DCC’s Articulation or Guaranteed Admission Agreements as
well as the Guaranteed Admission Agreements set up by the Virginia Community
College System (VCCS). Qualified graduates seeking transfer to these schools
will be admitted automatically with full third-year status upon application.
Admission to a given institution does not guarantee admission to particular
degree-granting programs, majors, or fields of concentration. Admission to
specific programs may require, for example, a minimum grade point average and
specific prerequisite courses.
Students seeking transfer under one of these agreements must have graduated
from DCC with a certain minimum grade point average (GPA). The required GPA
is determined by each four-year college or university. Students may be required
to sign a letter of intent to transfer to the desired institution, typically during their
sophomore year.
