Robot Geometry Project
Assigned: _________________
Due: ______________________
Create a “Geometric” Robot and label the geometric shapes to show your understanding of geometry terms and vocabulary. Your
robot can be made from recycled, purchased, or hand-made figures. The rubric below shows what is expected to earn each primary
grade. Please check the rubric carefully before you begin and again before you turn in your robot.
This project is due _____ weeks from today.
Grade
Expectation
1. Robot must have ALL of the
shapes listed here.

2. Shapes must be labeled to
receive an “E

Shapes
Solid Shapes:
 Cube
 Rectangular prism
 Sphere
 Cylinder
 Cone
Plane Shapes
 Square
 Rectangle
 Circle
 Parallelogram
 Rhombus
 Trapezoid
 Topic 12-Have at least one line of symmetry labeled
 Topic 12-Have at least one pair of congruent shapes labeled
(Same size… same shape = congruent)
****Lessons 11-1 through 11-5 can be found in your child’s
black math book.( pages 236-257)
 Show a point, a line, a line segment, parallel lines, and
intersecting lines. ( Lesson 11.1)
 Show a ray, a right angle, an acute angle, and an obtuse
angle (Lesson 11.2)
 Show the following polygons: Triangle (3 sides),
quadrilateral (4 sides), pentagon (5 sides), hexagon (6
sides), octagon (8 sides) (Lesson 11.3)
 Show the following triangles: (Lesson 11.4)
Equilateral Triangle, Isoceles Triangle, Scalene Trianglem
Right Triangle, Acute Triangle, and Obtuse Triangle
All of the shapes are included.
Most of the shapes are included.
Some of the shapes are included.
A robot is not turned in.
We hope this project will be a “family” project since we want our students “talking” about the attributes and characteristics of each
shape. Explaining “why” helps children learn to come to a conclusion. Work with your child, but make sure the child is doing
majority of the work. Thank you for assisting your child in applying the geometric vocabulary in a fun and educational project.
