To start the account set up process, you must know your Student/Employee ID#. What is my Employee ID? Your eConnect Employee/Log In ID is the seven-digit identification number that you are assigned once your application to attend classes within the DCCCD has been processed. To find your eConnect Employee Log In ID online, you can use the "Get My Employee/Log In ID" form located at https://econnect.dcccd.edu/myID.htm. Enter your Last Name Enter your birth date in MMDDYY format. For example, May 1, 1985 is 050185. Step 1: First Screen Once you know your Employee ID, you can set up your eConnect account for the first time. Go to: https://econnect.dcccd.edu/AccountSetup.html Enter your Last Name Enter your birth date in the MMDDYY format. For example, May 22, 1982 is 052282. Enter the e-mail address the human resource office has on file in your personnel record. This will not work with a different e-mail address. Enter either your Social Security Number with no dashes or your student or employee number then press “Submit” Possible Error Messages Information not matching: Your Last Name, Birth Date, and E-mail Address must match how it appears in your employee record. If you receive this error message, please try again or contact your location’s Human Resources office and verify and/or update your information. Name not found in eConnect database: Use the “Add My Name to the Registry” screen. LeCroy Center Page 4 of 28 eConnect Faculty Services Create a password following the requirements listed. Use a password you can remember, but would not be easily guessed. Step 2: Second Screen Retype the same password to verify you know what you typed. Type something to help you remember your password but would not help someone guess your password. This is an additional security feature of eConnect that helps protect your eConnect account. Be sure the answer is something only you would know and that could not be easily guessed by someone else. It should not be the same as your eConnect password. You will always be required to provide the answer to your challenge question for: - Update My Challenge Question Send My Money (Disbursement of non-payroll money.) - My Disbursements My Payroll Information Forgot/Reset My Password Change My E-Mail Address My Current Wage Information My Tax Shelter Statement Checking this box means you have enabled Enhanced Security and will also be required to provide the answer to your Challenge Question each time you access the following eConnect screens: *If you forget your challenge question or password, you will be required to request a manual reset. Possible Error Messages Passwords do not match: retype your password twice carefully. Passwords must be at least 8 and no more than 9 characters long containing both numeric and alphabetic characters. It is recommended that you include at least one of the following special characters ! , # $ % ˆ ) ( - _ ' `. Spaces and other special characters are not supported. Try a different password which adheres to the requirements. Manual Reset For a manual reset please refer to the FAQ ”How does an employee request a manual reset of their eConnect Password/Challenge Question?”. LeCroy Center Page 6 of 28 eConnect Faculty Services My Name is Not in the Registry If you are attempting to set up your account or log in to eConnect with your Student/Employee ID and receive an error message indicating that "your username is not found in the registry (eConnect username database)", please do the following: You must have a Colleague/Employee ID before your name can be added to the eConnect registry (eConnect username database). New employees are uploaded into the eConnect registry on a regular basis. If you have an Employee ID and an e-mail address in Colleague, and your name has not been added to the registry (eConnect username database), you may use the Add My Name to the Registry screen to request to have your name added. Add My Name to the Registry screen Enter the following information then press Submit. Enter your Last Name Enter your birth date in MMDDYY format. For example, May 1,1975 is 050175. Enter the e-mail address on file with the school Enter your employee ID* Possible Error Messages Information not matching: Your Last Name, Birth Date, and E-mail Address must match how it appears in your employee record. Page 7 of 28 Software Training and Support Dallas County Community College District Manual Request for a Registry Addition If you are unable to use the “Add Me to the Registry” screen, you can submit a manual request by doing the following: If you have a district-assigned GroupWise e-mail account: Send an e-mail from your GroupWise e-mail account to: REGISTRY ADDITIONS requesting a reset of your eConnect password. Please provide: o Name o Student/Employee ID# -OR- SSN o Date of Birth o Type: EMPLOYEE or FACULTY (very important) (Note: For security reasons, requests will only be accepted if sent from your own district-assigned GroupWise e-mail account.) Upon receipt of the information, please allow one business day for processing your request. Once your request has been processed, you will be required to setup your account before you log in. If you have a valid e-mail address, you will receive an e-mail confirmation when your account has been setup If you do NOT have a district assigned GroupWise e-mail account: Contact your division secretary or your campus evening administration. You will need to provide them with your name, your Employee (i.e., Colleague) ID or Social Security Number, and the course(s) you are currently teaching or most recently taught. Upon receipt of the information, please allow one business day for processing your request. Once your request has been processed, you will be required to setup your account before you log in. If you have a valid e-mail address, you will receive an e-mail confirmation when your account has been setup If you have any additional questions, please contact your division office. Security Tip: Never send confidential/sensitive information such as Social Security Number (SSN) or credit card/bank account information via e-mail, even as an attachment. These methods of communication can be intercepted and are not considered secure. LeCroy Center Page 8 of 28 eConnect Faculty Services I Forgot My Password If you forgot your password use these steps: Note: If you have “Enhanced Security” enabled, you will be required to provide the answer to your Challenge Question in order to use this screen. Online Reset 1. Go to the “Forgot/Reset My Password” screen at https://econnect.dcccd.edu/passwordReset.html and follow the directions. 2. Your eConnect password will temporarily be reset to your birth date in MMDDYY format. 3. For security reasons, please login to eConnect immediately and change your temporary password to a password of your choosing. Enter your Last Name Enter your birth date in MMDDYY format. For example, May 22, 1982 is 052282. Enter the e-mail address the admissions office has on file in your employee record. This will not work with a different e-mail address. Enter either your Social Security Number with no dashes or your employee ID, then press Submit. Note: SSN will be removed from this screen in the near future, leaving only employee ID. Be sure to log in within two days or your password will be changed to a random one. Possible Error Messages Information not matching: Your Last Name, Birth Date, and E-mail Address must match how it appears in your employee record. If receive this error message, please try again OR contact the Human Resources office at your location. For further help refer to our “FAQs: Get Answers” at http://econnect.dcccd.edu/faq-em.html. Manual Reset 1. If you are unable to reset your password online, please follow the procedure on page 10 to manually reset your password. A confirmation e-mail will be sent to the e-mail address that the Human Resources Office has on file in your employee record. You must be able to answer your current Challenge Question in order to use this screen. Online Steps Log in to eConnect Select “Update My Challenge Question” from the current credit employee menu. Enter your current Answer Press SUBMIT Remember to use caps if necessary: ‘Aspen’ is different from ‘aspen’. Possible Error Messages This does not match the answer on file for your Challenge Question. Please try again: Type the answer again remembering the answer is case sensitive. If you cannot remember the answer to your Challenge Question, you must have both your password and Challenge Question manually reset. Note: After six (6) failed attempts to answer your Challenge Question, your account will get disabled for 45 minutes. As a multi-million dollar participant of the federal financial programs, the Dallas County Community College District is required to verify that ALL students begin attendance* in each class for which they have registered. Failure to comply with the mandate could result in federally sanctioned financial penalties and/or loss of an institution’s eligibility for federal financial aid (TitleIV) program participation. *Note: Attendance can be defined as actual presence in the class, turning in an assignment, logging in to an online discussion, taking a test, going on a field trip, etc. Participation must occur prior to or on the certification date. If a student is certified for “non-attendance”, this does not mean that they are going to be dropped from the class NOR does it mean that they can no longer attend the class. Attendance for all students must be certified by 9 p.m. of the census date. Certification may begin following the last class meeting prior to the census date Certify my Classes 1. Log in to eConnect if not already logged in. 2. From the eConnect Faculty menu choose “Certify My Classes”. Select the Term 3. Select the current term OR the start/stop date of the semester. 4. Note: Once you have certified your class, you will no longer be able to make changes online. If you need to make a change, please contact the Financial Aid Office at your campus. LeCroy Center Page 22 of 28 eConnect Faculty Services Grade my Classes 1. Select the Grade My Classes link. 2. Select the Current term from the drop down menu. Then press SUBMIT. 3. A list of your classes eligible for grading will be visible. Choose the class for which you wish to enter final grades. Then click on the SUBMIT button. If you are teaching more than one class, you will have to return to this screen to enter grades for other classes. *Note* - Classes are visible three business days before the official final day of each class. Grades must be entered by the end of the third business day after the official final class day. Students without grades by the end of the third business day will automatically be assigned a grade of NR (not-reported). To change NR grades, you must submit a grade change form to the Registrar's Office for each student. Page 23 of 28 Software Training and Support Dallas County Community College District 4. Entering grades: You have only 15 minutes to input and submit your final grades. If you have not submitted your final grades within the 15 minute time period, you will be logged out of this screen and all additions will be lost. You do not have to enter all grades for this class in one session (see step 8 for details). If a grade of I or WX is assigned, an Incomplete or WX Contract with appropriate signatures must be submitted to your Registrar's Office. Not all colleges grant WX grades. Please check with your Registrar's Office for more details. LeCroy Center Page 24 of 28 eConnect Faculty Services You can print your results. Please remember to safeguard this private information. If you do not wish to make any changes you can return to the course list, search for another term or return to the faculty menu. You must SUBMIT this page for your grade entries to be saved. Page 25 of 28 Software Training and Support Dallas County Community College District If the grade entered is not valid for the academic level, such as a CR section trying to enter a grade of CP, you will see this error: Confirmation You do not have to enter all grades in one session. Don’t forget, un-graded students will receive an “NR” grade if a grade is not entered by the third business day after the class ending date. If you enter some but not all grades for one class, you will get a partial completion notice as seen below. You will see a confirmation screen indicating that you have partially or Not valid completely submitted final grades for this course. You can now choose another class to enter grades, or return to the faculty menu.
