EXCEL ICT HELP SHEET Generating ROMAN numbers in Excel Sometimes you need to display a Roman number. The simple numbers are easy to create, but when the numbers are large most people have trouble getting them right. The function ROMAN(number, form) will display Roman numbers between 1 and 3999. The argument form is optional and can be omitted, but can also be used to tell how the Roman number is to be displayed. Examples : Formula : =ROMAN(1995) =ROMAN(1995,1) =ROMAN(1995,2) =ROMAN(1995,3) =ROMAN(1995,4) Returns : MCMXCV MLMVL MXMV MVM MVM Instead of a date you could use a cell reference instead.
