Victoria Shaw and Gary Burr at 2008 BCFM/BCCA Conference
Your World. Your Connection. At the Dallas Fairmont, May 13-15
For Immediate Release - Chicago, May 6, 2008 – SESAC will sponsor performances by
award-winning songwriters Victoria Shaw and Gary Burr at the Annual Conference for the
Broadcast Cable Financial Management Association (BCFM) and its Broadcast Cable Credit
Association (BCCA) subsidiary.
Shaw, who has written such hits as Garth Brook’s "The River" and "She’s Every
Woman" and Ricky Martin's “So'Lo Quiero Amarte,” and Burr, who penned smash hits such as
Juice Newton’s “Love’s Been a Little Bit Hard on Me,” “That’s My Job” for Conway Twitty and
“Nothing About Love” for Lee Ann Rimes will perform at the SESAC-sponsored Conference
luncheon on Thursday, May 15. Themed “Your World. Your Connection.,” the 48th Annual
BCFM/BCCA Conference will be held May 13-15 at the Fairmont Hotel in Dallas.

In addition to her work with Garth Brooks and Ricky Martin, Victoria Shaw has written
songs for such artists as Doug Stone ("Too Busy Being in Love”), Jim Brickman (“Sending You
a Little Christmas”) and wrote "I Love the Way You Love Me” which was recorded by John

Michael Montgomery and Boyzone and named the ACM Song of the Year in 1993. Her other
hits include Ricky Martin and Christina Aguilera's duet “Nobody Wants to be Lonely” and the
Garth Brooks/Trisha Yearwood duet “Where Your Road Leads.” Passionately involved with
many charities, Victoria wrote and executive-produced the song "One Heart at a Time” for the
Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, which featured the vocals of Garth Brooks, Olivia Newton-John,
Billy Dean, Michael McDonald, Neal McCoy, Faith Hill and Bryan White. Victoria has also had
four of her songs nominated for daytime Emmy Awards in the category of Outstanding Original
Song. Her stage performances include opening for Garth Brooks in Central Park, playing the
London Palladium twice and touring with Jim Brickman. In addition to writing and performing,
Victoria is co-producer of new Country trio Lady Antebellum on their Capitol Record’s debut
CD album and has a brand new CD album of her own, entitled “Bring on the Love.”
Gary Burr is a three-time “Songwriter of the Year” winner; CDs featuring his songs have
sold more than 50 million units worldwide. He has written and performed with Ringo Starr, and
has appeared on VH1’s ‘Storytellers’ series as well as many talk shows. He had a world-wide hit
in Ricky Martin’s duet with Christina Aguilera “Nobody Wants to be Lonely,” granting him his
first #1 ranking on the Latin charts. Gary has also garnered a #1 on the pop charts, with his
collaboration on the platinum-selling single “Before Your Love,” which was performed by
American Idol winner Kelly Clarkson, and he wrote the top-selling single “This Is The Night,”
for American Idol runner-up Clay Aiken. Gary continues to write music with a number of the
world’s top performing artists, including Desmond Child, Ringo Starr, Carole King, Mary
Chapin Carpenter, John Levanthal, Richard Marx, Michael Bolton, and Ed Robertson of
Barenaked Ladies.
The BCFM/BCCA Conference features accredited sessions in the fields of finance,
