The first light bulb
It might be English scientist, Humphry Davy who made the first electric light in
1800 connecting wires to a battery and a piece of carbon, making the carbon
glowed and producing light. Or, it could also be Italian inventor, Alessandro
Volta’s glowing copper wire in his voltaic pile that can be considered to be one of
the earliest manifestations of incandescent lighting. But somehow, many would
usually credit Thomas Edison as the inventor of the first light bulb because he
patented the first commercially successful bulb in 1879 after experimented with
thousands of different filaments to find the right material that would glow and
long lasting as well. He discovered carbon filament in an oxygen-free bulb glowed
and eventually produced a bulb that could glow for over 1500 hours. It was
definitely an achievement in those days.
Changing technology
Today, people have a wide selection of different type of light bulbs, including
compact fluorescent bulbs work by heating a gas that produces ultraviolet light
and LED bulbs use solid state light-emitting diodes which can last up to 50,000
hours. If you use your LED lights for 8 hours per day, the light could last you for
over 17.12 years.

LumiFONSTM
Fōns is the latin word for springs or fountains and Avant-Garde is please to create a
comprehensive series of underwater illuminations known as the LumiFONSTM. All
LumiFONSTM products come in 24VDC power and they are protection rated IP68 for safe
underwater application. Made of the highest quality, LumiFONSTM underwater lights are
suitable for use in both fresh and seawater to light up the fountains and water
features. All of the products comes with built-in driver enabling each light to be
controlled separately. In big installation project, this will help customer to save lots of
money in cables because the lights can be looped with one another. We offer both
LumiFONSTM PRO and LumiFONSTM Classic to meet different budget and requirement.
LumiPOOLTM
LumiPOOLTM is specially designed to illuminate any fountain and swimming pools. All
LumiPOOLTM products come in 24VDC power and they are protection rated IP68 for safe
underwater application. Made of the highest quality, LumiPOOLTM underwater lights
can be used in both fresh and seawater pools. Customers have a choice of professional
DMX controllable C underwater lighting fixtures or pre-set lighting sequence. AvantGarde also offers energy efficient PAR56 LED lamps which are compatible to
conventional Halogen lamps. Accessories for wall and floor mounting are also offered
under the LumiPOOLTM series.
