The Hawkins Companies and their affiliates purchase, develop and manage real estate in
the Eastern half of the United States. Entities controlled by The Hawkins Companies have
developed over 1 million square feet of single-story, high-density office properties and
have successfully completed acquisitions of land, multi-family, office, business service,
industrial, retail, golf course and single-family residential properties. The Hawkins
Companies’ acquisition and development activities now total nearly 6 million square feet
and $750 million.
Founder
Scott D. Hawkins, Chief Executive Officer, formed The Hawkins Companies in 1990 to
continue and expand his activities in commercial real estate. Mr. Hawkins is a graduate of
LaGrange College, the University of Georgia School of Law and The Harvard Business
School and has been active in commercial real estate development and management in
Atlanta and the Southeast since 1982. His prior experience includes:

From 1977 to 1980, Mr. Hawkins was Legal Counsel for West Point Pepperell, Inc., a
Fortune 500 textile manufacturer.
From 1982 to 1990, Mr. Hawkins served as Vice President and Development Partner
of Watkins Associated Industries, Inc., a diversified, privately-held firm with
investments in real estate, trucking and food processing.
Since 1982, Mr. Hawkins has successfully purchased and developed over $750 million of
commercial real estate. Mr. Hawkins' development experience includes office, business
service, retail, multi-family and single-family residential properties. Similarly, his
acquisition experience includes land, single-family residential, office, multi-family,
business service, retail, golf course and industrial properties.
Mr. Hawkins serves on the Board of Trustees of The Westminster Schools in Atlanta, the
Board of Trustees of LaGrange College and the Board of Visitors of Duke Law School.
He is a member of the Alabama and Georgia State Bar Associations and either currently or
previously has been actively involved in leadership positions in a wide array of
educational, philanthropic, civic and religious organizations including serving on the
Board of Directors of the Harvard Business School Alumni Association and serving as
President of the Harvard Business School Club of Atlanta.
