The Student Government Association has recently concluded its allocation and reallocation
process. We started with an estimated budget of $222,940.29. Of the $250,653.66 requested from
student organizations this spring, we were able to fund $195,268.65. Of the $29,468.09 requested
from student organizations for reallocations, we were able to fund $24,714.22. For a total of
$280,121.75 in requests and $219,982.87 in funding. Club sports including Men’s Volleyball, and
Men’s and Women’s Rugby submitted $9,304.73 in requests and was funded $8,095.63.
As part of the Student Government Association’s budget, we are able to fund events and
resources for the entire student body. These resources include the Public Safety van that provides
transportation throughout the day to on-campus locations as well as transportation to the Berkshire
Mall, Target, Wal-Mart, and IMAX Theatre. The Student Government Association has also
partnered with Public Safety to provide transportation once a month to locations including the
Goggle Works during their “Second Sunday” open house, West Reading, a hiking trip to Hawk
Mountain, Philadelphia, and the King of Prussia Mall. We also fund the daily newspapers including
The Reading Eagle, USA Today, and The New-York Times available throughout the week. We fund
newly released movies available for streaming online while connected to the Albright network at
http://movies.albright.edu. Monthly movie nights will be held throughout the semester in the
Campus Center with free popcorn. This semester, SGA was able to implement the new software
called aLink, which allows for tracking of co-curricular transcripts.

The Student Government Association set aside funds for spring concerts options, which
include tickets to Justin Timberlake and Miley Cyrus at the Wells Fargo Center. SGA has purchased
tickets for the student body for local sporting events including the Reading Fightin Phils and the
Reading Royals. SGA will be attending an conference in New York City on March 1st. Lastly, AC2
and SGA will collaborate to host Block Party on May 3rd.
The SGA is excited to see our student organizations make use of their allocated funds, and
remain confident that these events will provide numerous benefits to the campus as a whole.
