OSHA 10- AND 30-HOUR GENERAL

INDUSTRY OUTREACH PROGRAMS

Demonstrate your commitment to workplace safety and compliance by having the OSHA Authorized Instructors from Clas Consulting deliver the OSHA 10- or

30-hour General Industry Safety Courses for your company or organization.

The Outreach Training Program is a voluntary program. Its purpose is to promote workplace safety and health and to make workers more knowledgeable about workplace hazards and their rights.

The 10-hour training program is intended to provide entry-level general industry workers with information about their rights, employer responsibilities and how to file a complaint, as well as how to identify, abate, avoid and prevent job-related hazards on a job site. The training covers a variety of general industry safety and health hazards a worker may encounter. Training emphasizes hazard identification, avoidance, control and prevention, not OSHA standards.

The 30-hour program is intended to provide intermediate- and advanced-level participants with instruction on a variety of general industry safety and health standards. It is a comprehensive safety curriculum designed for anyone involved in general industry. Specifically devised for safety managers, foremen and field supervisors, the program provides in-depth information on OSHA compliance issues.

Clas Consulting's trainers have been authorized by OSHA to teach both the 10-hour and the

30-hour general industry outreach courses. Upon successfully completing the course, students will receive Completion Cards from the

U.S. Department of Labor's Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA).

Outreach training does not fulfill the training requirements found in OSHA standards. Employers are responsible for providing additional training for their workers on specific hazards of their job as noted in many OSHA standards. A list of standards requiring training may be found in OSHA Publication 2254,

Training Requirements in OSHA Standards and Training Guidelines.

BOTH CLASSES INCLUDE:

• Introduction to OSHA

Workers' rights, employer responsibilities and how to file a complaint are covered. The introduction includes helpful worker safety and health resources. Students will be given current OSHA and industry information regarding construction worksite illnesses, injuries and/or fatalities.
