Sometimes things happen in life that we
do not like, or situations occur that we
cannot change. When this happens it helps
to say: “This is how it is” NOT how it
was...might have been...should have been.
Sometimes we need to ACCEPT that this is
how it is so we can choose to go on living
our life in a meaningful way. This idea
comes from Acceptance and Commitment
Therapy, and I’ll be sharing more strategies
with you from this therapy next term and
individually with the students whom I work
with.
For now, I’d like to share the following
ways to experience HAPPINESS- try some
of them out over the holidays and see how
they make you feel!

That night the hobbit visited her again and he
said “I will make you more if you give me your
first baby and let me adopt it like Angelina

That morning the prime minister’s son

day they got married. Two months later they
had a baby that night the hobbit visited her
again and said what about your promise to me.
You have to give me the baby!

The Hobbit
Once upon a time there was a father who went
to the prime minister and told him his daughter
could make counterfeit money, even though
she had no idea how to do that. The prime
minister said, “I will give you one day to make
me five hundred thousand dollars, but if I take it
to the bank and the bank notices that it is fake, I
will feed you to my three-headed Chihuahua.
So the young woman was given a printing press
and she was placed in the cellar at parliament
house where she was put to work. Later that
night she was looking at the printing press
clueless as to how to operate the machine,
when suddenly a mysterious figure came
lurking in the shadows. “Hello is anyone there?”
said the young prisoner in tears. She slowly
approached the shadowy figure who asked her
why she was crying. The poor girl replied, “I
have been forced to make fake money which I
don’t know how to make.”
Then the hobbit said, “I will make it for you if
you give me your IPod.” She agreed and he
made the money appear. In the morning the
prime minister came down to the cellar and saw

I am Legend, 2007 MA15+
I am legend is a truly scary movie. Living in a
world where infection has ravaged mankind,
killing most of the people and turning the rest
into bloodthirsty monsters.
In the city of New York there is a sole
survivor, Will Smith, who still searches for a
cure. His only companion is his best friend
Sam (a dog). Will smith is very convincing in
the starring. His role of a man truly alone,
with no other human contact, makes you feel
what the character must be feeling. This film
has a great story, great acting and great
action. Many scenes with gripping suspense
and is full of ‘edge-of-your-seat-action’. I
highly recommend this movie, and is a must
see for any zombie fan,(still, not technically a
zombie film) or for any horror fan.

Let us dig a little deeper into
the relationships in the story.
Romeo’s parents from my
perspective want to get to
know their son a little better
than they already do.
Especially when his heart is
broken over the so called
“love of his life” Rosaline.
This shows to me that they
do care and that they want to
be there through the tough
times that Romeo will face in
his life.
But we can look at Romeo’s
situation of heart ache even today, these
sorts of relationships between parents and
children are tough for any teenager,

You may be wondering what I’m on about
with the whole “Shakespeare was right”
thing, well …
When you look at Romeo and Juliet and you
look at the state of their families, you shall
soon understand, Shakespeare cleverly hides
one of the important factors in this story.
The battle between Parents and their
Children.
It would be hard for any child to be fighting
with their parents, but imagine fighting with
your parents whilst your parents are fighting
with another family. In Romeo and Juliet,
there are the Capulets (Juliet’s gamily) and
the Montagues ( Romeo’s family). There is
hatred between the two families and at the
start of Baz Luhrman’s Romeo and Juliet
(1996) there is a big fight scene between
Juliet’s cousin Tybalt and his friends, and
Romeo’s friends. To me this shows true hate
but the thing that confuses me is that Romeo
doesn’t know of Juliet and she doesn’t know
of him, but their families and friends are
always fighting.
C2 would also like to welcome Jane and Max into
our class. They have settled into the class well.

We had different activities to do there, at
first we heard a speech about drugs and
alcohol, depression, anxiety and food
disorders. After that we had a break and
went to a church to do another activity,
called the circle of trust. In the circle of trust,
we all had turns of answering questions and
getting rewards and prizes, we also had to
group up with people who we didn’t know
and we had to talk about things like
depression or similar stages in life.

There’s
this
website,
it’s
called Tumblr.
Tumblr is a
mircoblogging
platform
and
social
networking
website. I have a
blog on Tumblr and it’s basically a band and
tattoo blog only. I only blog pictures of bands
I listen to like Asking Alexandria, Of Mice &
Men, Slipknot, Woe, Is Me, Blessthefall,
Chunk! No, Captain Chunk!, Miss May I, Bring
Me The Horizon, etc. I also blog body tattoos
I find awesome. I follow 567 band/tattoo
blogs as well. I’ve made heaps of friends on
Tumblr who share the same music interest as
me; they all live in Australia which is great! A
few nights ago I posted a photo of Oliver
Sykes and Mitch Lucker together and it got
41 notes, that means 41 different people
blogged that photo. I’ve never gotten over 3
notes on a photo I’ve posted on my blog so I
was really happy to see 41 notes. I have 5
‘Tumblr famous’ people following me on
Tumblr. One of those ‘Tumblr famous’
people is actually best friends with a few of
my friends which is awesome! I only have 431
followers, but it’s still great to have people
follow my blog and enjoy it.

MASK
The gun was heavy in her hand. Lucy was
shaking, trembling in fact. Her hazel eyes
darted around nervously behind the curtain of
her short blonde hair, the tear tracks on her
face glittering under the lights as she tilted her
head back. Alabaster skin was marred by ugly
splotches of crimson, and the feel of it was
enough to make her stomach flip. Her clothes
were charred and ripped, the evidence of the
events that had occurred just three hours
previously. She took a deep breath. I can do
this. Lucy chanted it like a mantra in her head,
and as the seconds ticked by, she began to
believe it more and more, Quinn quickly taking
over. Quinn’s controlled façade snapped back
into place. She looked back down at the man
sprawled on the floor, her eyes hardening
rapidly, Lucy fading away. Quinn straightened
up, Lucy happily letting her take control, just
like she always did. Quinn would protect her.
Quinn always did. Lucy watched with an
almost child-like fascination as Quinn raised
the gun. Quinn braced herself to fire. Lucy hid
away, safe behind Quinn.

Centennial
Park
Hello my name is Paris I’ve been at
Centennial Park for almost a year. In that
time I have accomplished a lot.
I enjoy playing guitar and while I was at this
school I have had the opportunity to play
music with staff and students’ have also
participated in school of rock which was a
music program where you form a short term
band and practice songs a play them live in
front of an audience at the end of the term.
Our performance was at the valve bar in
Tempe I played lead guitar in the band which
consisted of three other people, a lot of
people were in the audience it was a good
day and I enjoyed the experience.
I am doing my work experience at Randwick
auto electrical. I do it on Tuesday, I wish I
could do more stuff with the cars when I am
there.
Throughout the last year I have
accomplished a lot in music and I still am
practicing music. It is a big part of my life and
I’m slowly progressing in forming a band or
joining a band.

have learned a lot for the time I’ve been at
