Having your art in the medical facility is so comforting and helps the patient remember that there is life after and outside the hospital and medical world. It helps us to remember that we are alive.” © April Waters, all rights reserved Willamette Valley View Acrylic on Canvas (60 x 108 inches) Collection of Salem Hospital © April Waters, all rights reserved Note from Patient: “My husband and I recently spent a lot of time at Salem Hospital due to his back surgery. We had a great experience at the hospital, and particularly enjoyed the artwork. We fell in love with your work. It is so beautiful, calming and distinctive. What a great gift you have and what a gift you give to others. There were some very stressful moments in the past several days where I just happened to be seated across from one of your paintings. The scene was so tranquil and peaceful and reminiscent of the trails my husband and I love to hike. It was a great to have that beautiful scene — a moment of respite in a time of turmoil. I hope you know that your work is providing a blessing to many.” Oneonta Gorge Oil on Canvas over Wood Panel (80 x 36 inches) Collection of Salem Hospital © April Waters, all rights reserved Opal Creek Oil on Wood Panel (80 x 32 inches) Collection of The Unitarian Church of Salem © April Waters, all rights reserved South Willamette Valley Oil on Canvas (36 x 48 inches) Private Collection © April Waters, all rights reserved Three Pools at Opal Creek Oil on Canvas over Wood Panel (32 x 80 inches) Collection of Salem Hospital Note from Administrator: “A large April Waters’ painting greets our patients, visitors and staff in the Center for Outpatient Medicine. Some of our clients come to us in grief or anxiety. It is our intention to create an environment that puts them at ease and brings them a sense of well-being, which mirrors our professional goals as well. Our staff regularly comments on how wonderful it is to come to work each day and see something so beautiful and stunning. April’s painting far exceeded any hopes or expectations.
