Preserving & Extending the Kingdom of Jesus Christ
Dear Hope Family,
It’s Auction time!! Our biggest fundraiser of the year is around the corner. Every dollar raised helps keep
tuition low. Enclosed is a list of businesses you are to visit and ask for donations for the Hope Auction. This
list was based on last year’s list. If you are new or did not get a chance to ask for a donation, I have assigned
your family businesses to visit.
If you would like to switch with someone that is fine, just let me know. If you know someone and want to visit
that person/business that is great, just let me know. We want to avoid asking businesses twice. I want to
stress that we do not want to ask a business more than once! If there is a business/person that is not on this
list that you would like to visit, let me know that also.
If you need addresses or phone numbers that are not available online or in phone books, let me know and I
will help track them down.
Here are some guidelines on asking for a donation:
1. Be polite and smile. Use words like "yes sir" and "thank you"
2. Go with another person if possible; male/ female. Little children (well behaved) works also!:)
3. When entering business, state who you are and whom you represent and why you are there.
Example: “Hi, I'm Rocky Sandcork from Hope Lutheran High School. I am here to see if your business
would like to make a donation to our auction.” You may need to ask for a manager or owner. What to ask
for? Obviously bigger items make more money, keep tuition low, but try to get something. Remember to be
polite.
4. If you get a donation, leave behind pink page of the 3-part donor agreement sheet. Attach yellow copy to
donation (if you receive it), otherwise return the white and yellow copies to office.
5. Leave behind auction information sheet.
If you need more copies of the 3 fold carbon copy auction donor agreement forms, email Shannon or myself
and we will get them sent home to you. If for some reason you are unable to visit a business, please let
me know ASAP so that we can assign someone else that business. If a business is closed or owners
changed or new address or phone number, etc.,please let me know as well so that we have the most up-todate list for future auctions
A list of businesses you are to visit are on the following pages. Once you have collected your donations, you
may drop them off at the school office. October 26 is the deadline to turn items in and have them appear
in auction book. We will continue to take items up until the day of the auction but will not be able to include
those items in the book.
I look forward to a God pleasing auction. Please do not hesitate to contact me with questions, suggestions,
concerns, comments, and/or ideas.
