Although the entire town of Springerville, AZ has been evacuated, 37 staff members remain behind at White Mountain Regional Medical Center to primarily treat injured public safety officials and provide hydration. The hospital CEO stated the staff are being encouraged to stay at the hospital for their own safety and that the hospital would be evacuated if it becomes non-­‐viable as a healthcare facility and/or non-­‐defendable from the fire.
