Cal Poly’s Civil and Environmental Engineering Career Fair has continuously provided a valuable link between industry and students for over 20 years. Each year, Cal Poly students prove to be among the top interns and full-time employees because of Cal Poly’s “Learn by
Doing” philosophy and focus on undergraduate education. Both the Society of Civil Engineers (SCE) and Society of Environmental
Engineers (SENVE) at Cal Poly strive to enhance the learn-by-doing experience by providing unique opportunities for students to succeed. Due to our active student members, SCE and SENVE continue to be recognized nationally as top student groups under the
American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE) and the Air and Waste Management Association (AWMA).
It is our pleasure to invite your organization to attend the 26th Annual Civil and Environmental Engineering Career Fair to be held
Friday, January 15th, 2016 . Many of you have supported and worked with us in the past, and we would be honored if you choose to attend. In addition to civil and environmental engineering students, the Career Fair is open to students from architecture, architectural engineering, agricultural engineering, construction management, and city and regional planning. This event provides a unique opportunity to focus your recruitment efforts on the students your organization needs most. In reserving a spot for this event, your company can choose any combination of the following options:
♦ Attend the Career Fair : This option includes a table at the Career Fair with recruiting opportunities from 9am to 2pm, interview opportunities from 2pm to 4pm, and complimentary breakfast and lunch.
♦ Attend the Networking Session : Your organization may sign up to attend a networking session to meet and recruit students within a social environment. Appetizers and drinks will be served. This event will be held the evening before the Career Fair, on
January 14, 2016.
♦ Make a Donation : Support one or both of our chapters by making a tax-deductible donation. The following are a few events planned for SCE and SENVE this year: o SCE is attending the ASCE Pacific Southwest Conference in Long Beach, CA. In addition, the concrete canoe team is hoping to continue their national success of placing in the top 5 for the last 10 years, and our steel bridge team hopes to continue on its success of placing in the top 10 nationally for the last 5 years . The chapter also received the 2014-2015
Robert Ridgeway Award for Best ASCE Student Chapter . Concrete Canoe and Steel Bridge both got 2nd place at
Nationals this year. o SENVE is attending the 110th Annual AWMA Conference and Exhibition in New Orleans, Louisiana. In addition,
SENVE’s competition teams are traveling to Las Cruces, New Mexico for the WERC Environmental Design Contest, and to Reno for the ASCE Mid-Pacific Water Treatment Competition.
We would greatly appreciate you taking a few minutes to complete and submit the enclosed registration form. Within three weeks of payment, you can expect to receive confirmation of your registration. In January, we will send a detailed exhibitor’s packet containing directions, parking information, shipping information, and a schedule for the event.
SCE and SENVE are committed to making this year’s Career Fair a valuable and enjoyable experience for your organization. Thank you for your continued support of Cal Poly’s professional organizations and students. Please feel free to contact us by email or phone with any questions. Contact information is included below. We look forward to seeing you in January.

Thank you for your interest in supporting the Cal Poly student chapter of the American
Society of Civil Engineers! Over the past several years, the Cal Poly Student Chapter of the American
Society of Civil Engineers (a.k.a SCE) has been incredibly successful. Our success is a direct result of the support and encouragement we receive from our sponsors. This year the officers of the student chapter aim to provide meaningful experiences and opportunities for all of the members. In addition, we are looking for new events, activities and service projects that will help our members to build upon their already strong technical and professional skills.
We greatly appreciate the previous support SCE has been given, as it has enabled the group to develop into one of the most recognized and respected ASCE Student Chapters in the nation. Last year, ASCE recognized our chapter as Robert Ridgway Award winning chapter, thus naming us the top chapter in the nation. You might remember that we were selected as the best chapter by ASCE in the nation in 2009,
2010, and 2011. Your continued support of SCE will allow us to continue to provide a valuable service to the students in Cal Poly’s Civil and Environmental Engineering programs. Cal Poly graduates are some of the best prepared in the profession, and we believe that the experiences we offer our members represent an integral part of their education.
Donations
Your donations will be used to reduce the price students have to pay for student chapter events, meetings, and conferences. For example, it will be used toward sending 90 students the Pacific Southwest
Conference, in Long Beach this year, where Concrete Canoe, Steel Bridge, and other student project teams compete. It also will be used for allowing students to attend the ASCE leadership conferences that are held in in Alaska and New York this year.
Any donation to SCE of $200 or more will get your company’s logo on our 2016 PSWC T-shirts and the "Sponsors" section of our website at www.cpsce.com
**In addition, any donation to SCE or SENVE of $200 or more will get your company’s logo on the back of each brochure given to the students who attend the Career Fair**

Firm Tours
Believers in the “Learn by Doing” Cal Poly philosophy, we enjoy taking students out to firms in the area and learning about what engineers do in the profession.
