The Center for Private Security and Safety is dedicated to the professionalization of the
private security industry offering short-term segment training in both resident and online
formats. By having the invaluable link between our academic resources and private security
industries, the Center also publishes a peer-reviewed journal, produces relevant white
papers, monitors and advises on changes to particular state industry mandates and
contributes to the development of best practices for the private security industry at the
local, state, national and international levels.

Extreme Alarm Science Boot Camp™
Alarm Science Boot Camp (TM) is a comprehensive training program that provides scientific,
technical, and real-world forensic based training to assist you and your employees in helping
to minimize your company's liability before a loss occurs. We will take you behind the scenes
of actual forensic cases and claims where different types of alarm systems have failed; perform a scientific and technical examination of the failure(s), and provide you with a heightened sense of awareness in how certain methodologies and practices can result in a higher
propensity to loss of property, serious personal injury, and even death. Advanced Electronic
Countermeasures that can be successfully utilized against the criminal element and for life
safety purposes will also be provided.
This training is ideal for Security Experts, Security Directors, Certified Protection Professionals, Physical Security Professionals, Professional Certified Investigators, Arson Investigators,
Private Investigators, Fraud Examiners, Forensic Examiners, Cause and Origin Investigators,
Loss Prevention Professionals, Special Investigation Units, Students enrolled in Security Management, Criminal Justice and Homeland Security in Undergraduate and Graduate Degree
Programs, Security Professionals, Senior Facilities/Operations Managers, Active and Former
Law Enforcement, Company Owners, and Consumers.
This program is based on the peer reviewed Alarm Science Training Manual (TM) which was
created and developed by Jeffrey D. Zwirn (CPP, CFPS, CFE, FACFEI, CHS-IV, SET, CCI, MBAT,
President of IDS Research & Development, Inc.), a nationally recognized alarm and security
expert and 17 year active designated Expert Instructor to the New York City Police Department [NYPD].
