Directions: Following the SQ3R method for studying, test preparation and outlining, read each assigned
chapter and complete the following assignment for each chapter.

Note Card Directions:
1. For each assigned concept or vocabulary term create a flashcard using index cards.
2. Create a note card for every concept and vocabulary term but ONLY important people with an
asterisk (*). Those important people without an asterisk will be added to concept and vocabulary
cards.
a. Concept Cards: On one side of an index card write the concept, when and where it
happened, and what it means. Flip the card over and write who was involved and why it is
important to the time period on the back.
b. Vocabulary Cards: On one side of an index card write the term and define what it means.
Flip the card over write who was involved with the event and why the term is important to
the time period. Also include which concept the term supports and why it supports it.
c. Important People: Write the person’s name on one side of the card. On the back side of the
card define the person’s relationship to the time period. Include dates, places, and events the
person influenced or was involved in.
