“Working on the MEGP team was a
great experience. The
communication skills, the ability to
work as part of a team, and the
knowledge of the Michigan small
business environment have all
helped me to be successful in my
new job.”
Ryan Caldwell

“The depth of the report data that
we received was impressive, and I
really enjoyed working with Patrick

development. As local businesses
make connections to overseas

Based in Warren, Michigan – Coliant Corporation is a member of Automation Alley
(mainly a technology business association in SE Michigan and a STEP partner).
Coliant representatives attended the MSU International Business Center /
Automation Alley workshop on
“Building Globally Focused Strategic Plans” in September 2011.
They followed up with MSU’s International Business Center to receive customized
research on several
international markets via the Michigan Export Growth Program in October 2011.
Based on this knowledge, Coliant created a plan for global strategy and applied to
MEDC’s PureMichigan
STEP program which helped them fund participation in a trade show in Italy in
November 2011. They also attended a trade show in Indianapolis in February 2012,
resulting in prospects for very significant sales.
