FIRST YEAR BOOK LIST 2015/16

The following books are recommended for compulsory units. There are multiple copies in the Library but you should consider buying your own to highlight, annotate and keep for future reference.

(Students of Politics with Economics must buy an economics textbook.) There are several bookshops in Bath and Amazon have a delivery point on campus. Second-hand books can often be found through the Students’ Union website.

You must buy your own copy of a textbook for the first-year Introductory Economics unit. There are a number available: Lipsey and Chrystal will be the best choice for most students, but you may prefer the style of one of the others. Note that some have US and European editions – choose the latter.

It is well worth reading something on university-level study skills. There are a number of such works in the Library, but if you can afford it you should buy one to refer to as need arises. We recommend:
