Mr. Orozco retired and youth advocate and educator Dr. Mary Ellen Caron was appointed
CEO. Shortly after, Ariel Investments President and longtime supporter Mellody Hobson
was named chair.
As we look ahead to the coming year, we plan to further infuse our programs with career
readiness skills and provide additional offerings in science, technology, engineering and
mathematics to make our youth competitive in the workforce. We look forward to building
upon the vision of Mrs. Daley to impact even more Chicago youth and to provide key
skills for life after school to those who need it most.
